What Reiki is
Reiki is a Japanese energy practice, begun by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. The word is often translated as universal life force energy. A session is an invitation into stillness, a place to rest, let everyday tension soften, and reconnect with the body’s own way of restoring.
Each person’s experience is their own, and there is no right way to receive it. Reiki is a complementary practice for well-being, offered alongside, never in place of, care from your health providers.
What a session looks like
Each session begins with a short check-in about anything you would like to bring to the hour, an intention, a question, or nothing at all. Then you lie down, fully clothed, while Reiki is offered in a quiet, supportive setting.
Lex asks before any touch. You may choose light touch or no touch at all, and change your mind whenever you like. The session closes with a few moments to return to the room and share anything you noticed.

Common questions
Do I need to know anything about Reiki before I come?
No. No experience is needed and there is nothing to prepare. Lex walks you through the session at the start and is happy to answer any questions.
Will I be touched during a session?
Only with your permission. You can choose light touch or no touch at all, and you can change your mind at any point. You stay fully clothed, and you are welcome to pause or stop the session whenever you like.
What should I wear?
Whatever feels comfortable. You stay fully clothed for the whole session, so soft, easy layers work well.
Is Reiki the same as massage?
No. Reiki is an energy practice, not massage, and there is no muscle work or pressure. If your body is asking for hands-on bodywork, therapeutic massage or myofascial release may be the better fit.
Can Reiki take the place of medical care?
No. Reiki is a complementary practice for rest and well-being. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it sits alongside, never in place of, the care you receive from your health providers.
How early should I arrive?
About ten minutes before your session, enough time for a soft landing. Your intake and consent forms come to you online when you book, so they are already done before you arrive.
When you are ready
Sixty quiet minutes with Lex, fully clothed. Arrive about ten minutes early for a soft landing.
